Loop Road Studios
This policy explains how this application handles information and how to contact us about privacy.
Information we process
Loop Road Studios stores imported audio files, project and loop names, categories, marker positions, crossfade settings, and export preferences on your device. If synchronization succeeds, the app sends project and loop metadata and source or rendered audio to its backend. On first contact the backend creates a random installation token; the app keeps it in iOS Keychain and the backend stores only its SHA-256 hash. The service receives normal request information such as IP address, requested path, response status, and request time in operational logs. The app does not ask for an account, name, email address, microphone access, location, contacts, or analytics identifiers.
How we use information
The app uses local files and settings to edit, play, save, and export audio loops and reopen the last project. The backend uses the installation token to authorize private storage and retrieval, synchronization across the same installation, and deletion requests. Request logs support operation and troubleshooting of the service.
Service providers and sharing
The backend runs on Railway, which processes and hosts the service, its persistent storage, network requests, and infrastructure logs. Apple processes files or sharing only when you choose the Files picker or iOS share sheet; the destination you select receives the exported file. We do not add advertising, analytics, email delivery, or social sign-in providers, and the app does not sell personal data.
Data retention
Projects and audio remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. Server copies remain on the Railway service until the installation requests deletion or the service's storage is removed. The app does not set an automatic expiry for projects or tokens. Railway infrastructure logs and any backups are subject to Railway's operational retention and backup practices; we do not claim a specific period or immediate removal from backups. Rendered exports are kept in the app's private storage until replaced by a newer export with the same name, removed by Delete all my data, or removed with the app. Temporary preview audio is removed when playback stops or when all app data is deleted.
Deleting your information
Delete a project in the app to remove its local source audio and request removal of its server project and related loops. In Settings, Delete all my data removes local projects and queues deletion of the installation's server records and token; if the network is unavailable, the request is retried when the app opens again, and server data may remain until it succeeds. Removing the app without using this action may leave server copies because the installation token cannot then be recovered. For help with a deletion request, contact colstontolladay4@icloud.com. We cannot identify a lost installation from an email address alone.
Permissions and your choices
Import uses the iOS Files picker and accesses only the file you select, which is copied into the app's storage. Export uses the iOS share sheet when you choose to share a rendered file. The app plays audio through the device and does not request microphone, location, camera, contacts, or notification permission. You can stop sharing by dismissing the share sheet and can remove selected files or projects in the app.
Your privacy rights
You can view, rename, categorize, export, and delete your local projects and loops in the app. You can request deletion of this installation's server data through Settings. For privacy questions or requests, email colstontolladay4@icloud.com. Because there are no accounts and tokens are installation scoped, access to server data depends on retaining the installation token; we cannot promise recovery after it is lost.
Security
The app uses HTTPS for server requests and stores its installation secret in iOS Keychain. The server checks that secret on each private request, stores only a hash of it, and restricts project and audio records to the matching installation. Backend audio and metadata are held in private SQLite storage on Railway, not at public file URLs. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
Loop Road Studios is a general audio editing tool for musicians and sound creators and is not directed to children. It does not include child profiles, targeted advertising, or social features. If you believe a child has provided data through an installation, contact colstontolladay4@icloud.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when app features, hosting, or data practices change. The effective date at the top of the published policy will change, and the current version will remain available at the public /privacy page. You can contact colstontolladay4@icloud.com with questions about a change.
